North Scottsdale Real Estate Info

Scottsdale, Arizona, one of the state's largest cities, is located in eastern Maricopa County in the Phoenix area, and is split into several neighborhoods, North Scottsdale being possibly the most prominent area in the city. The region is located in the Salt River Valley and is part of the Sonoran Desert, just west of the McDowell Mountain Range.

Despite being historically the least attended to part of the city, today North Scottsdale is the city's most highly and actively developed and developing area. North Scottsdale homes are also some of the most expensive in the West, many of which have been valued at more than $5 million. Most of the recent growth in North Scottsdale revolves around the Scottsdale Airpark, which is currently the second-largest employment area in the Phoenix region, and expected to grow to become No. 1 in a few years. The center contains more than 23 million square feet of commercial real estate, with more than 2,500 businesses and 55,000 employees. The area is expected to add more than 3,000 employees per year as it continues to grow. Companies with offices in the park include AXA, GE Capital, DHL, Discount Tire Company, Fidelity Investments, JDA Software and The Vanguard Group. The area accounts for more than $3 billion in the community's economy now.

North Scottsdale is also home to the Scottsdale Airport, which was built in the 1960s. It has grown to become one of the most heavily trafficked single-runway airports in the country, though it is generally only utilized by corporate planes or general independent pilots. The airport is near to the Airpark development area, and this is where it gets its name. North Scottsdale is also the site of the internationally renowned annual Barrett-Jackson Auto Show, held at the West World exhibition complex. The show attracts car enthusiasts from around the world and features all types of cars, both modern and classic restored. The FBR Open Golf Tournament (formerly called the Phoenix Open) is also held annually here in North Scottsdale at the Tournament Players Club, adjacent to the Fairmont Scottsdale Resort. The four-day event attracts more than half a million visitors.
