Tempe, to the east of Phoenix, is well known as the
home of Arizona State University. With over a quarter of the population
being students, this is a university town.

and development—fed by the University, and financial services.
The city of Tempe has two libraries, three museums, 48 parks, six indoor
theaters, five golf courses, four swimming pools and many basketball, racquetball,
volleyball and tennis courts, plus baseball and soccer fields.
